2016 Autumn Wedding fairs
Good morning blog readers. I managed to slip away for some sun at the end of August and have been playing catch up ever since. So this morning I was looking in my diary and I noticed that we have entered the Autumn Wedding Fair season and I need to get sorted for the wedding fairs I will be showcasing at.
I have been busy weddinging and still have so many events left this year but the wedding fairs allow me meet new suppliers and look at new ideas to pass on to the Brides and Grooms I have booked in for 2017 as well as enabling me to meet lots of new brides and grooms to be and get swept up in their excitement searching for amazing suppliers to make their day special. There is nothing I love more than hearing from new couples.
Are wedding fairs worth attending?
Most wedding fairs are free to get in to but don’t be put off if you have to buy tickets. They are not that expensive and are usually worth it for the goodie bags (I do like a freebie). Wedding fairs give you an opportunity to meet suppliers, sometimes they will have samples for you to look at, taste or take away. Many have goodie bags filled with useful information and inspiration. Some wedding fairs are promoting the venue they are held in and so may not have too many suppliers for you to chat too, but there are some out there that are very big and a bit like a cattle market!
I attended a wedding fair, that shall remain nameless, earlier this year and when I sat drinking my coffee at the very bottom of the hall I noticed that it was so busy most people were just wandering without being able to spend the time to talk to the suppliers they wanted to get to know. For me, that defeats the object of a wedding fair.
Personally I prefer the small wedding fairs where suppliers, like me, are hand picked by the venue. They have a strict criteria on how many of each kind of supplier is allowed to exhibit so you won’t be inundated with photographers and florist. They may have small VIP areas where you can pay and receive something in return such as free alcohol (see how I went with that first) free canapés, an exclusive fashion show or, like with the Luxurious Wedding Show at Kedleston Hall in November there will be a jeweller cleaning rings and yours truly giving advice.
Where will Rebecca Wilkie Weddings be?
On 2 October I will be at Nostell Priory for their Autumn fair hosted by Brides Up North and I can’t wait to show case in such a stunning venue.
On 9 October I will be at Osmaston Park in Derbyshire for the Giant Wedding Show. Osmaston Park Is a stunning marquee wedding venue. Situated at the top of the hill, where the old manor house once stood over looking the park lands, the lake, various water features and the rolling hills of the English countryside. There will be 80 amazing suppliers.
Then on 15 October I will be a Wakefield Cathedral, another stunning venue for The Wedding Affairs traditional & vintage luxury wedding show. 60 wonderful suppliers as well as complimentary VIP Bridal Gift Bag!
On 23 October I will be in Nottingham with Save the Date at their wedding event with a difference #WEWAD. ‘Not only is there over 80 handpicked weddings suppliers with more wedding eye candy than you can shake a stick at! There’s interactive demonstrations, inspirational talks, catwalk shows, live entertainment and lots lots more!’ I can’t wait to see it all and you can see it all too as I have six complimentary tickets to give away so keep a look out next week!
And the finally, the one I am most looking forward to! On 6 November I will be at Kedleston Hall at Honeysuckle & Castles luxurious wedding show but I won’t be exhibiting, instead I will be in the VIB (Very Important Bride) lounge giving wedding advice!
So, I will be having a really busy October but am very excited to get out there and meet new suppliers and new couples, perhaps I might see you there…make sure you drop by and say hello!
