Our Stunning Gin Bar
I am so so excited to share with you the photos of our gorgeous Gin Bar. We were thrilled to be approached by Brides Magazine earlier this year who has seen our stunning gin bar and thought it would be perfect for their Cupids Cuisine so we packed up our van and headed off to the beautiful grounds of Clumber Park on a stunning sunny (but chilly) day.
Being big gin drinkers the first dilemma was which gins to choose from! We are often asked, at parties and weddings to stock the couples favourite gins, at events we stock gins local to the area so for the shoot we could stock whatever we wanted so I chose six of my personal favourites. Bloom, Tanqueray, Hendricks, Opihr, Bombay Sapphire and Monkey 47.
Bloom is a stunning dry London gin and for me, served with strawberries for a fruity taste and if I’m drinking it in the summer, I may even use frozen strawberries to keep it extra cold. Tanqueray I enjoy with juice when I want something really refreshing. Most people serve Hendricks with cucumber but, because of it’s hint of rose, Hendricks is my favourite for making cocktails. It makes an amazing summer punch. Opihr, pronounced ‘o-peer’ is a wonderful gin full of spice and citrus. I always serve it with a large chunk of pink grapefruit. Bombay Sapphire in its beautiful blue bottle is perfect with a wedge of lime. Monkey is a really complex gin, with berries, citrus, floral and herb notes it’s not your every day gin but one I really recommend you try with a twist of lime or a sprig of sage. Or course no gin is complete without a tonic and at Pop Fizz Gin, our Gin Bar, we prefer Fever Tree tonics.
Photo shoot Styling
I was so so lucky to have the pleasure of working with Hollie Nicole for the second time. She is able to capture my vision just perfectly. As our handmade bar cart is white is lends itself perfectly to being decorated to suite whatever style and theme but what better to decorate it than to use flowers! I was so lucky to have the lovely Laura from Avant Garden on hand to provide the floral wreaths that I wound round the front pillars making our stunning gin bar even more perfect. Earlier in the month I met up with the gorgeous Elizabeth Malcolm and spent the morning looking through her lush range of dresses. There were so many to choose from I could have walked away with them all but I think the one we chose is just perfect.
Although the sun was shinning and it looks as though the photos were taken in the height of summer, it was really cold so I think our stunning model did a great job, especially as it was her first job and although I am a little bias, as she’s my daughter, doesn’t she look amazing!
And here we are…
