Spring Wedding Guest Dresses
Hello you lovely blog readers, it’s the 1 April and spring is here, let’s hope someone tells the weather man! Shopping for an outfit for a wedding can be a bit of a nightmare. Will you feel comfortable to wear your outfit all day? Will someone else be wearing the same dress? Will it clash with the theme? So here is my round up of some gorgeous spring wedding guest dresses.
What not to wear as a wedding guest
For some people there are some colours that are absolute no no’s when choosing something to wear as a wedding guest and this makes choosing Spring Wedding Guest Dresses even harder.
White and Ivory is a no no. Some people consider this rude. Traditionally white and ivory are for the bride.
Black is another no no for wedding guests, unless the theme is Gatsby or Black and White, steer clear.
Remember that this is a wedding and not a night out, lets not go too short or too revealing and no jeans (I sounds like a nightclub door man in the 90’s).
High street stores
Coast is always a go to wedding store. Their dresses are feminine, well made and always on point. I love walking into their stores. Big bold florals are iconic and this spring they are everywhere, accompanied with rich reds and corals.
The Giugletta Printed Dress is stunning. The neckline and straps show off stunning shoulders and the pinched waste and A-Line skirt makes the dress very chic and not bad for £109.
French Connection isn’t usually my ‘go to store’ for all things weddings however, the Cecil Drape Embellished Trim Dress is amazing and very different. I think you have to have the right skin tone to pull off the Spring Apple shade, but I love this. With the sequin trim on the shoulder and round the waist and the side drape, a little more expensive than Coast at £160 but love it!
Ted Baker is one of my absolute favourite stores, even if it is a little pricey. Again we see big floral prints, pastels and stripes in their spring collection. Another store that I love walking into. Their window displays are always as eye catching as their clothes and their most recent collection doesn’t disappoint and the Floray Cut Out Embellished Midi Dress is my absolute favourite at £189 in either mint or baby pink. Totally on trend for spring wedding season. When choosing spring wedding guest dresses, Ted Baker is my go to.
I was always a massive fan of House of Frazer, I would by my clothes, my kids clothes, my bags and shoes from there, and then they refurbed. There is nothing I hate more than not being able to find my way round a store I know better than my own home! And then I was invited to a black tie awards ceremony and I knew that I had to go back…House of Frazer is the place for black tie attire. When looking at the 2016 Spring Wedding Guest Dresses I couldn’t not have a browse round what was my second home for such a long time and I’m so glad I did. Check out their Biba Knot front mesh panel luxe dress very simple, very elegant and very cheap at only £89!
I don’t normally shop in Karen Millen but am in love with a lot of their clothes and I tend to shop there when attending something special and I love the Watercolour floral maxi pencil dress. The longest and most expensive dress on the list at £250, but still stunning.
I love the fact that John Lewis brings together so many different designers under one roof so if you are short of time and can’t trawl the high street, John Lewis brings most of the stores above together as well as Whistles, Jaeger, Hobbs, LK Bennett, Oasis and more. John Lewis is definitely my go to store for all things electrical. I just got a new Samsung washing machine from there that sings to me when it’s finished and connects to my phone! How cool is that?! Oh yes, Spring Wedding Guest Dresses…they may only have 31 stores but those stores have extensive ranges.
Away from the High Street
When looking for Spring Wedding Guest Dresses, if you have the time, why not look outside the high street? There are two stores in particular in South Yorkshire that are amazing stores away from the high street for Spring Wedding Guest Dresses. The first is New Image in Sheffield. This store has been there for a long time and their window displays are always amazing, I love their collections and love that no one else will be wearing what I am wearing. The second is REaL which just happens to be near me. As well loving this store because it isn’t a major high street store, I am the biggest fan of their hats and fascinators. They make them to order and they will match your outfit and they are stunning! I bought a bag a pair of shoes for the wedding I attended in American but they weren’t quite the same shade. They were able to match both colours and pull the outfit together, a la the photo at the top of the page, so why not check out your local shops, you never know what you might find! Happy Shopping.
